Beautiful, Bruised, and Believing
A Faith That Holds When Life Falls Apart
This eBook is part memoir, part journal, part Bible study — all of it rooted in real-life faith, struggle, healing, and growth.

Life feels overwhelming — I understand that deeply
You may not know me personally — but here I am, sharing the most intimate, trying season of my life with you.
The past two years have taken me to some of the darkest, most spiritually taxing places I’ve ever been.
Places where I questioned everything — my faith, my purpose, my strength. Places where I wondered if the light of hope would ever reach me again.
But it did — in ways I didn’t expect but deeply needed.
And here’s what I’ve discovered:
The light always finds its way in — sometimes quietly, sometimes unexpectedly, but always when you need it most.
That truth inspired me to create this eBook— for women like me… and women like you who keep showing up, even when life feels heavy.

What’s Inside:
✨ Part Memoir: Raw, honest reflections from my journey through exhaustion, doubt, and rebuilding
✨ Scripture-Rooted Prompts: Strengthen your faith with gentle, guided reflections
✨ Quiet Activities: Ground your spirit and exhale the weight you’ve been carrying

Here’s a Glimpse Into My Story:
From September to December, the bills stacked higher while my bank account emptied. Despite sending out dozens of applications, not a single email came through to set up an interview. The silence was loud, and the discouragement was real. Whatever money I had left dissolved as I tried to furnish the apartment—now with two of everything for the boys.
And then the depression arrived. Slow. Quiet. Suffocating. Like fog creeping under the door, curling its way into every corner of my mind. Most mornings, getting out of bed felt like trying to swim through cement. I was drowning in sorrow, in anxiety, in depression—and I knew it. Eventually, I realized I needed more than financial relief. I needed help. I started searching for a therapist, but I hesitated.
For twelve years, I practiced Nichiren Buddhism, a tradition that teaches chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is a sacred act, a way to awaken one’s Buddha nature and access the wisdom and resilience needed to transform pain into purpose. Christianity offers a similar promise: that through prayer, faith, and the grace of God, the brokenhearted can be made whole (Psalm 147:3). Both paths demand spiritual discipline. Both call for unwavering belief, even when hope feels distant and peace seems just out of reach. Yet beneath all the teachings and practices, a quiet question tugged at me: If I’m reaching for outside help—therapy, medication, support—does that mean my faith isn’t strong enough?

This isn’t just another self-help eBook
This is not a passive read. You’re invited to actively engage—with your pain and your healing—through hope-filled scriptures, writing prompts, and restorative self-care practices.
Because you stumbled upon this page, let it be a quiet confirmation to take the first towards your inner journey.
