Today’s generation of children faces unprecedented health challenges, with rates of childhood obesity at all-time highs. In the United States, nearly 1 in 5 children—about 14.7 million—are affected by obesity, a condition that greatly increases their risk for developing chronic diseases later in life, including type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension . These chronic conditions currently affect millions of adults, straining both healthcare systems and families.

The issue is complex, and food alone isn't the problem. Factors such as socioeconomic status, limited access to nutritious foods, stress, and sedentary lifestyles all contribute to the difficulty of achieving and maintaining a healthy weight, managing diabetes, and controlling hypertension.

Tula's Wellness Program addresses these challenges by engaging the entire family in adopting sustainable, healthier habits. The program utilizes a holistic, evidence-based approach that incorporates nutrition education, mindfulness, cooking demonstrations, physical activity, and stress management techniques to empower families to lead healthier lives together.

Walk in the Park

A Wellness Platform for Healthy Families 

A fun and engaging series of wellness classes, workshops, and resources designed to support families in achieving healthy weight loss, managing hypertension and diabetes, and enhancing overall well-being.

 

Fitness Class

Nutrition Counseling

 Families are provided with guidance on healthy eating habits, meal planning, and balanced nutrition to enhance energy levels and improve overall health. 

Mindfulness

Families learn deep breathing, and stress management practices to reduce mental fatigue, and promote emotional well-being.

Movement

The movement component  promotes physical activity through tailored exercise routines, and fitness challenges designed to improve physical health.

Healthy Cooking

With hands on experience, families learn how to prepare nutritious, balanced meals, empowering them to make healthier food choices that support overall wellness and long-term health.

About Us

Since its inception in September 2020, Tula Health & Wellness has worked with clients and community-based organizations to help individuals  reverse the effects of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and chronic stress.
