this is me

this is me

For years, I felt like I was moving through life without direction—carrying stress, fatigue, and emotional heaviness that I couldn’t quite explain. I tried to push through, like many of us do, until I reached a point where I knew something had to change.

A turning point came when I began to explore Nichiren Buddhism. It offered more than spiritual insight—it gave me structure, intention, and a sense of agency in my own life. As I continued to practice, I became increasingly curious about how our beliefs, behaviors, and biology are deeply connected. This curiosity led me to study Eastern philosophy, nutrition, and plant medicine. I started learning how food could be used not just for nourishment, but for healing. Herbs that once felt mysterious became tools I could work with. As I slowly incorporated natural approaches into my life, I began to notice real, sustainable change—especially in how I managed depression and anxiety. That healing sparked something deeper. I enrolled in formal training programs in Integrative Nutrition and Herbalism to better understand how to support others through similar journeys. But the path wasn’t just academic—it was deeply personal and transformative.

A few years later, a trip to Mexico brought everything full circle. What I thought would be a brief escape turned into a profound experience of self-discovery. While there, I met a teacher who helped me recognize and develop a natural sensitivity I had long ignored—my capacity to feel and work with energy. What I once saw as a vulnerability became a key part of how I hold space and support healing.

In 2020, I founded Tula, my holistic health practice. The word Tula means balance in Sanskrit—a reflection of what I believe health is really about. Not perfection. Not quick fixes. But balance—between the mind and body, science and spirit, nourishment and rest.
