Everyone at some point in their lives has experienced trauma. When we experience trauma, it lives within us and settles into our physical bodies. Although we may have done a good job suppressing the trauma and the feelings associated with it, none of fully goes away, unless we go through a healing process.
In the energy healing portion of my practice, I see firsthand just how impactful the past can be. I witness the end result of what happens when we carry unresolved hurt for so long that it turns into rage, and then into physical symptoms like depression. Although the type of trauma we experience varies from person to person, the healing process is always the same and involves these 3 steps: name it, reframe it, allow forgiveness.
Name It
This is by far the hardest, step because it forces us to relive the events of the trauma. But without naming it, we cannot begin the healing process. I will use myself as an example. My mother and father divorced when I was three years old. His absence left me feeling unloved and inadequate. I never let go of those feelings, and they followed me into my adult relationships. When I was able to name the source of my failed relationships as my father-daughter trauma, I was able to begin healing.
Reframe It
Louise Hay said it best, "we are all victims of victims" What she means by this is that the people who were part of our traumatic experiences, we also victims of their own trauma. When I looked back at my father's childhood, it was filled with sadness and abandonment. Knowing this didn't excuse his absence, but I was able to understand and empathize with his actions.
Allow Forgiveness
We are only able to truly forgive, once we name and reframe the trauma. Forgiveness is not gift we give to the person or people who hurt us. Instead, it is an antidote of peace that we give to ourselves to replace the venom of hate.
Moving past our trauma is a process. Sometimes we have to go through steps 1-3 over and over again. But each time we do, the load gets lighter.
If you want to overcome emotional roadblocks, self-doubt, fear, and self-imposed limitations, I am offering resources and a free energy healing consultation.
